
Students can leave with the school group that is most appropriate. Students attending the event will get a preview and instructions on when and where they can pick up a free sweatshirt during Welcome Week.Īfter Convocation, peer academic advisors will lead groups by school to their Dean's Welcome event. The ceremony will begin at 9:15am and end by 10:15am. No guests will be permitted to attend.įor those living on campus, RAs will guide you to the event from your housing locations that morning. Only invited students are able to attend this event. Attendees that register will be notified ahead of time if guidelines around masking change. Attendees must be in compliance with the UC COVID-19 Vaccination Program and masks are highly recommended during the event regardless of vaccination status. Students must register to attend via Campus Groups. Students will need to swipe or scan student ID cards to enter. Please limit the amount of items brought into the event. Attendees will pass through security and have all bags checked before entering the venue. This year's event will be held indoors at the Bren Events Center. Our UCI Chancellor, ASUCI President, and UCI Alumni President will share words of wisdom and kick-off the new school year. New Student Convocation is highly recommended for all new undergraduate incoming freshman and transfer students. The official opening ceremony of the academic year, New Student Convocation, is held on the Monday of Welcome Week, September 19.
